Dashing Details

Dappled Grey features this post from our kids’ style contributor Zola’s Post.

My Dyer Equestrian show coat is my favorite piece of clothing in my closet. It’s a midnight navy color with a slight polka dot trim at the pocket and a seahorse logo on the sleeve. The coat is made in a cool breathable fabric that has stretch to it which is perfect for jumping.

Dyer Equestrian was started by Erin and LeeAnne. They are both riders who love everything about horses and fashion. They came up with the name Dyer by combining the names of their first horses, Dylan and Ernie. This year at WEF I had the opportunity to meet Erin and LeeAnne. It was exciting to meet my favorite designers and see the Spring Collection!

Their new show coat has a hot pink ultra suede collar that can be worn down when you are in the Hunter ring and when you are done showing you can pop it up to show of your dashing Dyer design. I immediately tried it on and didn’t take it off all day…It’s a great blazer to add to any outfit outside of the  ring. They also added striped belts to the collection that look amazing with my jodhpurs. The designers studio is located inNYC and everything is made in the USA.

When my daughter starting riding ponies I didn’t realize I was signing up for a “touring” lifestyle. She loves competing in the Hunter ring which means we are usually at 2x horse shows per month. We love things that smell good and have devised a system of washing our blankets and pillow cases in Le Labo Rose 31. When we walk into a hotel room the comforter comes off and we add our own blankets and pillows. Then we light our travel tin candle. The fabric fresh is wonderful to spray around the room and I use it on clothes to get wrinkles out. Put the iPad and Fiji water by the bed with your magazines and you are all set. It makes the weekend better to just have these few things. Tata Harper’s goodnight oil is the perfect way to fall asleep after a long day of showing.
